Cash Flow Planner questions, answered
Answers about Cash Flow Planner for iPhone, iPad, and Mac: free features, the one-time Pro upgrade, private iCloud sync, bank connections, and debt tracking.
Is Cash Flow Planner free?
Yes. Download it free and use one cash account, unlimited income and expense entries, unlimited tags, a 30-day forecast, and the separate debt tracker. There is an optional one-time Pro purchase.
What does Pro include?
Pro unlocks unlimited cash accounts, 60-day, 90-day, and one-year forecasts, plus purchase previews and comparison charts. It is a one-time purchase with no subscription. Your local price is shown in the app and Apple's purchase confirmation.
Does the app connect to my bank?
No. You enter balances, income, and expenses yourself. The app does not request bank credentials, import bank transactions, move money, or pay bills.
Does it work on iPhone, iPad, and Mac?
Yes. Cash Flow Planner has native layouts for all three. It requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, or macOS 14 or later. Visit the App Store listing for current compatibility details.
How does iCloud sync work?
Your financial entries synchronize through your private iCloud database when you use the same Apple Account with iCloud enabled on your devices. Connectivity and iCloud availability can affect how quickly updates appear. No separate app account is needed.
Can I add recurring bills and paychecks?
Yes. Add one-time or recurring income and expenses, organize entries with tags, and skip an individual occurrence when plans change. The daily forecast uses those entries to project future balances.
Does recording a debt payment change the cash forecast?
No. Debt tracking is separate from the cash-flow plan. Add an expense to your cash account if you want that payment reflected in projected cash balances.
Which currencies can I use?
Choose USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, or AUD for each account.
Why is there a same-day timing risk?
The daily low assumes expenses clear before income on the same date. That can show a temporary shortfall even when the day's ending balance is positive. Real bank processing may differ.
Are forecasts guaranteed?
No. They are estimates based on your entries. Balances do not update from your bank, and payment dates do not automatically adjust for weekends or holidays. Verify actual balances and dates before relying on a projection.
